Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has explained why he took Jorginho off during halftime of their 4-0 win over Everton on Wednesday night.
Thomas Partey replaced Jorginho for the second 45 minutes of the game at the Emirates.
A brace from Gabriel Martinelli and goals from Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard saw Arsenal move five points clear at the top of the table.
But it wasn’t until Partey’s introduction into the game that Arsenal really took control.
Jorginho looked off the pace during the first 45 minutes against Everton, which Arteta put down to illness.

“When he came on he really gave us some presence and stability to the team and I think the second half was superb,” Arteta said.
